The AGORAs in Abobo and Port-Bouët were transformed into AFCON Villages « Akwaba ». During each of the Elephants’ matches, more than 10,000 people gathered at the AGORA Port-Bouët in front of the two 24m2 screens, while over 7,000 people gathered at the Koumassi and Abobo AGORAs. On the day of the final between Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria, over 15,000 people celebrated the victory of the new African champions at the AGORA Port-Bouët. These numbers are truly remarkable. The AGORA featured performances by some of the biggest names in the Ivorian music scene, including Didi B, Yodé and Siro, Roseline Layo, Serge Beynaud, Voix des Anges, Ariel Sheney, Lil Jay Bingerack, and of course, Tam Sir, the creator of the CAN anthem « coup du marteau »! The AGORA teams were fully prepared for this major event, and everything proceeded smoothly, without any incidents. NGOs and associations were present on-site to raise awareness about sustainable development issues among supporters, including organizing a massive HIV/AIDS testing campaign. These CAN Akwaba Villages would not have been possible without the approval of the Ivorian Ministry of Sports and COCAN, as well as the technical and financial support from sponsors such as Orange, Ecobank, Brassivoire, Lonaci, Sania, Bic, Canal+, Mibem, Kellogs, NCI, and Décathlon. Below, you’ll find the most captivating photos of the CAN at the AGORA, along with the recap video that aired on Canal+ Afrique.
