NEW PARTNERSHIPS SIGNED AT AGORA KOUMASSI HIGHLIGHT WOMEN’S SPORTS AND TRAINING

On Wednesday, October 26th, on the occasion of the visit to AGORA Koumassi by Mr. Olivier BECHT, French Minister Delegate to the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, in charge of Foreign Trade, Attractiveness, and French Nationals Abroad, Winwin Afrique signed a series of new partnerships to support the development of women’s sports and professional training.

In the presence of Mr. Paulin Claude DANHO, Ivorian Minister of Sports, Mr. Olivier BECHT, and H.E.M. Jean-Christophe BELLIARD, Ambassador of France to Côte d’Ivoire, a first agreement was signed between Ivoire AGORA and the Directorate of Mass and Gender Sports. The initial collaboration for the organization of the Women’s Sports Day had brought the two entities together in 2021, already gathering nearly 3500 young girls.

The success of this event inspired the initiative of a brand new partnership, envisioning the annual organization of the Women’s Sports Festival, quarterly competitions, and activities dedicated to young girls and women. Additionally, it includes the establishment of an advocacy and communication initiative promoting female sports participation.

In addition to this partnership, the AGORA program chose to appoint Ruth GBAGBI – double Olympic medalist, double world champion in taekwondo, and six-time African champion – as Ambassador for Women’s Sports. Leveraging her influence and status as an opinion leader, Ruth GBAGBI is more than ever committed to promoting physical and sports activities among young girls and women. The key objective of this distinction is to ensure constant awareness of the benefits of sports practice for women, especially in preventing certain diseases.

The second significant player in this event is the e-learning application Trace Academia.

Winwin Afrique and Trace Academia have indeed signed a partnership to promote training in sports-related professions. This alliance aims to contribute to the success of young Ivorians by providing them with easy access to free digital training courses, delivered by top sports experts, and professional opportunities to launch their careers.

Mr. Olivier BECHT finally inaugurated the AGORA Paradise Game Center, a space dedicated to digital entertainment and esports.

The youth of Koumassi now have their space for digital exploration and learning through gaming, created in partnership with Paradise Game, a company led by Sidick Bakayoko, a computer engineer who has become a key figure in the video game sector in Côte d’Ivoire. His company aims to unite the gaming community in Africa and popularize video games on the continent through esports events and digital gaming information platforms.

Located in the heart of AGORA, amidst multiple sports fields, the AGORA Paradise Game Center aims to provide the youth of Koumassi with a new gaming space and support Ivorian esports talents while overseeing the practice. It marks a significant step in the professionalization of the electronic gaming sector in Côte d’Ivoire.

Whether by offering games created by African studios or organizing training programs for digital professions, AGORA Paradise Game is now a hub promoting the digital sector in Côte d’Ivoire, serving the education and success of young people without distinction based on gender or social background.
