The NGO Nid D’espoir focus on women’s empowerment by offering literacy night classes and free training programs. The event “The Literacy Queens” was held at the AGORA Koumassi, in partnership with the DREN (Regional Directorate of National Education), the DAENF (Directorate of Literacy and Non-Formal Education) and over 20 associations, rewarded the best students in the country’s literacy courses.
The objective of this contest was to promote education through a competition between candidates in several areas: grammar, dictation, reading and spelling. More than 1,000 women of all ages received their literacy certificate at the AGORA in Koumassi on March 27, 2021.
